Telling Tales
Camden Library Services wants to tell the tales of people and places in Camden sharing stories from the past and offering visitors the chance to tell their own stories for future generations. This includes a photo display, online exhibition, oral history project and children's activities.
Camden Library will exhibit photographs that show “before and after” images of places of local interest for the duration of the festival. This exhibition will be presented with more detail on our website. Visitors will be invited to record oral history interviews in our Local Studies. A special ‘Sharing Stories’ themed, pre-school story time for MiniDiscoverers will include a visit to Camden Museum and the opportunity to listen to stories, sing songs and handle and play with items from the past.
To coincide with the school holidays there will be a similar activity for school aged children who will be able to share some of their own stories as well as checking out the Museum. Our local Camden Historical Society and Camden Area Family History Service will also post details of their events on their websites.
