PAST EVENT

Taree in the 1920s and 30s

As late afternoon unfolds, so do the stories of Taree’s past. Journey through Taree’s CBD to uncover stories of the 1920s and 30s. Experience the optimism following World War I, the grief of the Great Depression and a collection of surprising stories in between.

This guided walking tour connects you to Taree’s past by telling the forgotten stories of the people who lived and worked here. Stories such as the Taree copper who turned his “focus” onto the figures of Sydney’s underworld, the humble beginnings of a famous opera singer, the harsh reality of earning a living, and the immigrants who made Taree home. This is Taree’s unique story.
