Tales of Past and Present, the Chinese People of Rockhampton

Tales of the Chinese settlers, past and present, accompanied by Tea and games will entertain during the afternoon. Learn of the early trials and experiences of the Chinese pioneers in the district.

While enjoying a cup of Chinese tea, hear the stories of the early Chinese settlers and their trials upon arriving in Rockhampton. Local Chinese members will entertain you with their own experiences as well, while traditional games of Mah Jong and Chinese Checkers are played. Our magnificent Joss or prayer altar is a local treasure and has been lovingly preserved along with other traditional artefacts. A guided tour of this important artefact will be given during the afternoon.

The HAll is next to the Berserker state School oval and playground and has a hedge of bamboo which partially obscures the view of the Hall.
