Swan Guildford Historical Society

Come on a walking tour to explore the early days of convict involvement in Guildford. Hear some stories of those who helped shape the history of Western Australia.

Convict tours commence at the Colonial Gaol in Meadow Street Guildford. Let us tell you stories from the dark side of the convict era dating from the early 1850’s to 1868. Contrary to popular belief, convicts transported to the Colony were generally charged with serious offences. Despite this, many went on to carve out successful careers and contribute significantly to the development of the Swan region. The Gaol will also house a temporary exhibition telling the stories of some of these men.

There is some parking onsite, and also in nearby streets. The tours will go ahead regardless of weather so please come prepared.
