Sutherland Shire Citizens’ Heritage Festival
The Sutherland Shire Citizens' Heritage Festival Committee is a group of Shire Committees that work as team to co-ordinate a variety of interesting and varied activities for you to enjoy during the National Trust Heritage Festival
Returning for the 39th year of celebrations, the Sutherland Shire Citizens’ Heritage Festival offers tours of local businesses, museums, art galleries and many family activities.
A lovingly restored Vintage Bus will be on a loop on our Open Day Saturday 30th April. Hop aboard to be taken from the Tramway Museum to Hazelhurst Regional Gallery in Gymea, Brinsley’s Joinery in Sutherland , Brick Pitt Museum in Kirrawee, and the Sutherland Shire Historical Society Museum in Sylvania.
Other not to be missed Open Day activities include the Cronulla School of Arts offering exclusive Theatre Tours and community groups such as the Port Hacking Potters set to display their traditional talents and beautiful wares.
The festival continues right through to Sunday 29 May, offering activities for the whole family including the Kurnell Village Fair, the Sutherland Music Club concert and a performance by Southern Brass. The Botany Bay family History Society will be hosting a day at Tradies Gymea where there will be many groups on hand to help you trace your family History. There will also be a wonderful day at Parc Menai, a fantastic and colourful celebration of our Celtic connection.
