Sutherland Shire Citizens’ Heritage Festival 2023

The Sutherland Shire Citizens' Festival is a joining of many varied groups within the Shire that share in the rich history of the area.
Our festival covers the Arts, the Music, the people and the History. there are many stories to be told throughout our festival. please come and join us!

This festival has been running for over 30 years, comprising of many interesting and heritage places and events in our Shire. Running in conjunction with the Australian National Trust and with assistance from Sutherland Council.
It comprises of many local, voluntary groups, who come together to showcase their activities, along with several well-known organisations.
The majority of events are free, please look further into each event individually for more precise detail.
On Saturday 22nd April a Heritage bus will run from the Tramway Museum at Loftus, stopping at all the events being held on that day. The bus will run on an hourly schedule, allowing passengers to hop on and off at their leisure. A gold coin donation would be appreciated.

Ansto will be conducting tours.

Cronulla Ferries
Take a cruise on the oldest commuter ferry in Australis. This cruise to Bundeena will have experienced crew on board, the “Curranulla” explaining the full history of this beautiful old ferry.

Sutherland libraries will be conducting special programs for the festival. Check their web site for details.

The Sutherland Music Club will be presenting a program of Gilbert & Sullivan highlights at the Sutherland Church at 1pm on 2nd May.

Southern Brass will be presenting a concert at Tradies Gymea

Cronulla School of Arts will be open for inspections and tours.
