Sharing our Stories: A kids’ view – growing up at Donnelly River, a WA timber mill town

A kid's eye view - growing up at the Donnelly, a WA timber mill town.

Come and visit the Friends of Donnelly Village Museum on Monday 17 April 2023, 10am-12.30pm and meet Tim and Kathleen Larsen who spent time at the Donnelly as kids when their Dad’s worked at the Mill.

They have lots of great stories to share about a kids life in the Bunnings timber mill town, schooldays, swimming lessons at the dam, building cubbies, staying out until the Mill whistle went and it was time to go home for tea.

The town was full of characters from around the world and many who lived there have very happy memories and say it was the best place for kids to grow up.

You can also spend time viewing the museum during your visit with lots of photos and information about The Donnelly on display. The Friends of Donnelly Village Museum is open 7 days a week 9am – 4.30pm and you can visit any time.

Just ask at the General Store for the key.
