Secret Treasure – Guided Tours with Viennese Afternoon Tea
The Duldig Studio, Museum, and Sculpture Garden is a unique National treasure nestled in the heart of Malvern East that showcases the extraordinary modernist art works and life of cultural influencers Karl Duldig and Slawa Horowitz-Duldig, with heritage Viennese rooms and original artist studio.
A guided tour of the Duldig Studio starts in the modern exhibition space to welcome visitors to the works of Karl Duldig and Slawa Horowitz-Duldig. Here the Duldig collection rotates to showcase the broad and diverse range of art work created by this dynamic couple including clay, marble and bronze sculptures, paintings, illustrations, prints and so much more. After a video introduction by their daughter Eva de Jong-Duldig, visitors get to visit the heritage rooms with antique Viennese furnishings. A 1930’s fold up umbrella and original patent documents of Slawa’s invention are displayed. A stroll through the sculpture garden one can see over a hundred of Karl Duldig sculptures. Guides highlight key works and their historical significance. Entry into the original studio, with its 1940’s kiln, unveils more key works and a sense of how these artists lived and made work. The tour finishes with a Viennese afternoon tea, unearthing never before seen artefacts and historical stories.
