Ryde District goes to World War II
Visit historic Willandra House, see the history of the Ryde District on display and help to preserve your history in the District by bringing your family, school, house or event photos along.
The current RDHS project is to record the World War II service history of our residents; help shape our history by bringing your memorabilia for digitising.
Ryde District Historical Society is trying to remember and respect those people from the District who served in World War II. We are also trying to build a comprehensive list of our service people, with details of their service, their families, their homes and their place in the community.
The Open day is a chance for people to bring along memorabilia and photographs reflecting their family’s service. These will be scanned (on the day) and incorporated into the RDHS archive. There will be displays showing the district’s involvement in World War II.
Meet the volunteers, bring along your family’s school, house and event photos and memorabilia for us to include into the collection for future generations.
Come and have a look around the house and join us for a cuppa.
RDHS publications will be available for purchase.
