Rouse Hill Village Walk

Rouse Hill village was formed in the 1840s but remained farmland with just a church, cemetery, school and general store on Windsor Road until 1970s.

In the early 1800s this was also the site of the battle of Vinegar Hill and several inns to service travellers on the Hawkesbury (Windsor) Road.

On your walk you will explore and discover the following:

  • Sites of Dharug Aboriginal occupation
  • Convict graves
  • Remains of a stone cairn
  • Heritage-listed Aberdour House on Vinegar Hill Farm
  • Village green
  • Unique horseshoe-shaped cemetery
  • & the general store, toll house and inn locations.
