Roped In: Hands on rope-making history sessions

Wind your way to the Wanneroo Regional Museum to learn about the intriguing history of rope making. Watch a demonstration and try your hand at creating rope too!

Discover all the twists and turns of mechanical rope and cordage making in a demonstration by museum volunteer and Jack-of-all-trades, Eric Coates, where single strands of fibre combine with many others to make something incredibly strong and useful.

Help Eric create one of his multi-coloured marvels and hear about the surprising history and importance of this very old technology still in use today.

This is an all ages event (best suited for children 8 and up with an adult).
