Riversdale Reminiscence

This is a unique opportunity to hear about how history informs the present at Riversdale: Letters between sisters guide new plantings in the garden, and oral histories from Twynam descendants help bring flavour and personality to this much-loved heritage property. Morning tea included.

There has been a flurry of activity at Riversdale and the volunteers would love to share with you their work around the property.

This is a unique opportunity to hear previously untold stories of Edward and Emily Twynam’s family life. Great grandson, Stephen, will reminisce and share tales from family. Join head gardener, Ros, as she reads personal letters between the Twynam sisters who delight in detailing the plantings in the Riversdale garden beds of the early 20th century.

A visit to Riversdale is never complete without delighting in a scrumptious morning tea. Tea, coffee and cake will be served in the garden so that you can relax in the garden just as the Twynams would have.
