Progress on the Restoration of the Wooden Tall Ship Alma Doepel in Docklands

In Docklands there is a major restoration of a 1903 Australian built three masted topsail schooner – the Alma Doepel. Once complete, the likes of this project are unlikely to be ever seen again so close to a major CBD.

Enjoy a guided tour of the Alma Doepel restoration as we take you “Behind the Scenes” in the capable hands of our passionate volunteer guides who will tell you the history of Alma as they point out work in progress, techniques employed by the shipwrights, tasks yet to be done and review the carefully restored fixtures and fittings. Walk through the “Soldiers at Sea” Exhibition bringing to life the role Alma played in WW2 as AK82 in the Pacific Islands campaign. There will be a sausage sizzle, tea and coffee available all day.
