POWER and the PEOPLE – Yarra Ranges Heritage Network exhibition – Monbulk launch
Curious to know more about the heritage of the Yarra Ranges?
Come to the Monbulk Historical Society launch of Power and the People - a touring exhibition, created by the Yarra Ranges Heritage Network, funded by Yarra Ranges Council and supported by Yarra Ranges Regional Museum.
The exhibition celebrates the 150th Anniversary of local government in the Shire of Lillydale which began on the 11 February, 1872.
18 Yarra Ranges heritage and community groups, have documented the powerful efforts of locals since that time to create facilities and work to improve life for those in the Ranges. Each organisation has chosen one example in their community to show how the partnership between the people and local government has created facilities their community still enjoys today.
Come along and view the extraordinary work of those dedicated people across the years and celebrate THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE!
The Monbulk launch of this ground-breaking exhibition takes place on 20th April at 11.00 am and is auspiced by Monbulk Historical Society.
The exhibition will be on display at Monbulk Community Hub Foyer from 12 April to 18 May, 2022, travelling to further venues over the year, including Yarra Ranges Regional Museum and Mont De Lancey Historic Homestead.
