Our Heritage – Kwinana

Come to a celebration of historical architecture, arts, culture, Aboriginal heritage and the natural environment and celebrate the charm of historic Sloan's and Smirk's Cottages.

Explore the Having a Voice Art Exhibition at the Darius Wells Community Centre (Cnr Chisham Ave & Robbos Pl, Kwinana).

Experience Aboriginal heritage by joining local Elders in storytelling and hands on activities at Sloan’s Cottage (Sloan Drive, Leda), where local residents can purchase subsidised native seedlings for $1.50. Hear the If These Walls Could Talk – Garden’s, Ghosts; Gung-ho talk where three exciting speakers describe the heritage, hauntings and modern day experiences of Sloan’s Cottage.

Visit the open day at Smirk’s Cottage (Beacham Cres, Medina), presented by Kwinana Heritage Group and enjoy the Medina Heritage Walk up Chalk Hill from Smirk’s Cottage.

These events and activities are supported by the Kwinana Heritage Group, Kwinana Community Share, local Elders and community members and the City of Kwinana.
