Our Heritage, East Rockingham Settlement

Come look at the early homes, settlers an their histories. Share their losses, gains and their futures. View early images of the Cottages that make up the settlement of East Rockingham and read the stories of these pioneers that came before us.

Visit Rockingham Museum to take a journey back in to the past and to the first Pioneering families of the area. East Rockingham was an active community that survived in harsh conditions, building cottages and farming the land. Many early Western Australian families such as Bell, Day, Chester, Mead, Hymus, Smirk, Thomas and Thorpe families, all adding to our history here in Western Australia. Come view the images and read stories from 1850s on. There are brochures available on the cottages to take home. We look forward to seeing you soon.
