Open Day: The Magic of Mothers’ DayMiss Porter's House

Open Day: The Magic of Mothers’ Day

House museum and garden open for inspection plus a handcraft stall and activities for children.

Following the untimely death of Herbert Porter in 1919 his wife Florence and his young daughters Ella and Hazel all lived to ripe old ages in the family home for the rest of their lives. The house contains the clothing, photographs and household effects of the Porter women. It is a women’s house. A visit to Miss Porter’s House is becoming a Newcastle Mothers Day tradition.

Our Mothers Day Stall offers foodstuffs, needlework, and speciality cards.

A special display, on a special day, for a special person.
