Open day at Heritage Rail Museum

Experience the 1914 site & exhibits across 140 years of technology & art. Our visitors always have tales to share & enjoy a chat about the ‘good old days’ and our heritage.

The museum’s volunteers extend a warm invitation to National Trust members AND Seniors Card holders to take advantage of a special offer on this day only – your regular admission fee entitles you to a delicious Devonshire Tea (scone, jam/cream & tea /coffee/soft drink). The future of our collection is in good hands: many projects are on the go – volunteers help shape our profile for years to come.

Plus take a fascinating 15 minute ride* on a heritage train or tram. Wander through small exhibits, the model room, historic locomotives and carriages and view memorabilia from over 100 years of railway activity at Valley Heights. Soak up the ambience of what was a bustling railway depot.

‘The Future’ also depends on you! Please remember to browse our shop on departure for a unique souvenir or gift! Help support our volunteers!

*subject to operational conditions e.g. adverse weather, breakdown, crew availability etc.
