Olde Tyme Tea in the Garden
Enjoy morning tea and lunch in the garden, served by CWA members in traditional attire using tested CWA recipes. Live music on the verandah. Open house.
The CWA house in Greenbushes began life as a timber worker’s cottage in Grimwade. It was moved to this site in 1935 by horse and jinker.
Do you remember those lemonade scones your grandmother made? The CWA Greenbushes Belles still prepare food using traditional recipes. They are opening their 1935 clubrooms to the public after completion major indoor renovations. The Belles recently created mosaics to CWA historic themes that adorn the clubroom ramp in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the CWA of WA in 2024.
Tea will be served from big pots by women dressed up in traditional garments.
Musicians playing live acoustic music will entertain the visitors from the verandah stage. Recipe books and other merchandise will be for sale. There will also be children’s activities, such as quoits, jenga and stilts available to try.
