Old Bolwarra Heritage Walk

To celebrate The Australian Heritage Festival, the Friends of Grossmann House led by our knowledgeable guide Wayne Campbell, will take our friends on a walk through the historic "gentleman's suburb" of Old Bolwarra, an important area in the history of Maitland.

Back by popular demand – the Friends of Grossmann House are hosting a Heritage Walk in the Maitland suburb of Bolwarra on Sunday 18 April, commencing on site at 2pm.

Known as the 19th Century Gentleman’s Suburb, Bolwarra is one of Maitland’s most prestigious addresses. The Heritage Walk will be guided by our inimitable guide, Wayne Campbell, who has been enthusiastically leading the majority of our Heritage Walks for many years. Wayne has an extensive knowledge of architectural history which he will bring to bear as we walk the leafy streets of Old Bolwarra, which contain numerous fine examples of mid to late 19th century architecture, as well as some contemporary architecturally designed homes.

Delicious afternoon tea will follow back at the National Trust’s Brough House in Church Street, Maitland.

  • Bookings is essential via Eventbrite. Phone Holly McNamee for any queries – 02 4933 3330.
  • There will be some uneven street surfaces encountered during our walk.
