National Trust Anderson’s Mill Heritage Event

A free event with heritage games, mill tours, and displays and demonstrations by the Ballan District Vintage Machinery and Vehicle Club, Quilters Victoria Inc., Central Goldfields radio group, Collaborative Research Centre in Australian History, Public Records Office and Ballarat Society of Artists.

A free event, supported by Federation University, Parks Victoria & Hepburn Shire Council.

The Ballan District Vintage Machinery and Vehicle Club will display steam engines which will focus on bread making. The Central Goldfields radio group will be at Anderson’s Mill communicating with mills worldwide . The AWI will develop awareness about “Adopt a Mill across Australia”.

Quilters Victoria Inc. will display heritage quilts in the Mill, and there will be materials and books for sale.

A Mother’s Day event will focus on exploring PROV, PRAC archives and writing your own family history and a focus on the new family history course. The Collaborative Research Centre in Australian History with the Public Records Office will host panels and exhibitions on family history.

The Ballarat Society of Artists will display original artwork.

There will also be tours of the mill and waterwheel.

Regional Arts will be approached for support.

Anderson's Mill, Smeaton, can be accessed from Melbourne, Ballarat, Creswick or Clunes and from Bendigo, Newstead, Castlemaine or Daylesford et al
