For a special Mother’s Day treat, visit historic Grossmann House, Maitland’s fully restored 1870 Victorian house museum for a guided tour which will take the visitor back to times gone by.
Follow this with a suitably styled sumptuous offering of home made savory and sweet tartlets and delicious finger sandwiches, tea, brewed coffee and juice. A complementary glass of sparkling wine or water will be offered on arrival in the beautiful gardens of Brough House.
Built by Isaac Beckett, a prosperous Maitland merchant, Grossmann House is situated in the historic precinct of Church Street. Its twin, Brough House, was built by business partner Samuel Owens. For many years both properties were part of the Maitland Girls’ High School complex.
