Millpost: Back in time
Explore the historic property, Millpost, near Bungendore. See the remains of a 19th C limekiln; an ancient stone axe quarry; follow farm trails through hills; see a merino sheep farm and help celebrate the centenary of family custodianship of the property.
This Millpost tour is a rare opportunity to see multiple historic features on a working farm. You will see a relatively intact 19th century limekiln, an ancient Stone Axe Quarry and an historic homestead surrounded by permaculture gardens. David Watson’s book ‘Millpost: back through time’ will be launched by local historian Brendan O’Keefe.
The tour will include a Welcome to Country by Dr Matilda House, Ngambri/Ngunnawal elder and Axe Quarry guides, Rob Williams, Ngambri/Ngunnawal archaeologist and David Johnston, senior archaeologist.
Morning tea and lunch included.
Please note that this tour is self-drive and involves driving on dirt tracks and walking across paddocks. It will be contingent on the weather and there are limited toilet facilities. It is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
