Max’s Modernism: A Walking Tour in Sydney’s CBD

A Sydney CBD walking tour hosted by Emma McGirr, GML Heritage Consultant, visiting modernist architectural sites immortalised through the life and photography of Max Dupain AC OBE. Participants will be encouraged to consider place, modernity, photography and urban evolution.

This walking tour takes at some of Sydney’s best modernist architecture as depicted through the eyes and pictures of Max Dupain. From Dupain’s point of view, you’ll experience his clarity of composition in the context of a changing city. The walk will move through central Sydney encompassing notable twentieth century buildings and conclude at the State Library of NSW for a special viewing of photographic prints held in the library’s collection.
