Illawarra Houses and Homes
We have put together a unique collection of photographs from our Illawarra Images Collection to create fun puzzles for people to complete. The Illawarra Houses and Homes puzzle collection and our concurrently running exhibition, reflect the wide variety of what our community calls home.
What makes a house a home? There have been many different types and styles of houses in the Illawarra from shacks and tents to high rise flats. They have each been a home to people with stories of their own. We hope this exhibition will prompt people to remember places they have lived and share stories about what made their house a home.
The puzzle collection shows the variety of housing in the Illawarra area over time and includes images of tents, shacks from the Depression era, cottages with a variety of architectural styles to high rise apartments and modern mansions. Have fun with your puzzling while getting a novel insight into the homes of the people of the Illawarra.
