Home: a right, a dream, a contested space
Join us for an afternoon exploring notions of home and housing from historical and contemporary perspectives. Our panel of speakers will discuss the myriad issues that surround the concept of “home” in past and current times, across cultures and through stories.
Our speakers, from a range of expert and experienced backgrounds, will explore diverse home and housing perspectives including Traditional Ownership and custodianship, migration and seeking refuge, homelessness, and planning for urban development. What does the past tell us, what is happening now, and what is planned for the future? How do our culture and stories influence and shape our experiences of home? Is having a sense and place of home a right, a dream, or always a contested space?
