Yallum Park Homestead is a large Victorian Mansion that was built for John Riddoch between 1878-1880 and is one of the best-preserved historic houses in Australia. The mansion is open for visitors who can view an extensive collection of English wallpapers dating from 1878 to 1880 as well as stroll through the beautiful and extensive gardens.
Narracoorte Homestead, located in the Wrattonbully Wine Region, 15 min drive to the Naracoorte World-Heritage listed caves, is the who’s who of the townships’ forefathers – George Ormerod, William MacIntosh and Thomas Magarey, names synonymous with the main streets and buildings of Naracoorte each built impressive dwellings on the property previously known as Narracoorte Station, the regions’ premier Sheep Run from 1842 through to early 1900’s. The property is also home to two identified Indigenous scarred trees – one identified to be 500 years old, and a magnificent Moreton Bay Fig, as well as hidden lavender-lined pathways.
