Come and enjoy a very special afternoon listening to a descendent talk on their Family History (Gibson, Denniss, Hogg & Mulligan Families) from the Berkeley/Unanderra area and hearing about Illawarra's Early Maritime History.

Enjoy listening to a descendent talk on their family history and how they lived and worked in the Berkeley/Unanderra area. Hear amazing stories of:

  • working on the family farm
  • fishing on Lake Illawarra to sell at market
  • a family member making the kayak for Australian Champion Sculler William Beach (1880’s) to race in

Also, learn more about Illawarra’s Early Maritime History, including how produce and cedar were transported up and down the NSW coast and where the shipwrecks are located off the south coast, succumbing to the unforgivable ocean.
