In 2023, with the return of the Australian Heritage Festival and its theme Shared Stories, Saturday 22 April,
we invite you to be part of the Tasmanian story at heritage listed c182Rathmore.
Enjoy Lunch in the Wool Shed and Smoko in the 1900s Stables with excellent food and beautiful local Invercarron wines from sheep farm/award winning vineyard at Broadmarsh.
Utilising the Tasmanian Digital Tasmania database, we will share yarns – stories of convicts assigned to Lieutenant Henry Torlesse, General Langdon of Montacute and early shepherds and settlers from 1818. Rathmore built by convicts using local hand hewn stone was set up with all the “appurtenances of an English farm”, including original farm building, now the Wool Shed and unique event venue. We will uncover untold stories and reflect on these amazing stories that shape our future.
