Heritage in Hand
Heritage in Hand is a program that celebrates community, creativity and a culture of giving.
McClelland – a gallery and sculpture park located on 16 hectares of Bunurong Country – exists today due to the extraordinary generosity of Annie May (Nan) McClelland and her brother Harry McClelland. Both were creative, generous and influential figures in Frankston. Annie bequeathed her Estate to establish McClelland. Thanks to Nan, we have been connecting with local and regional communities, partnering with arts and community organisations and supporting art practice for nearly 53 years.
Heritage in Hand is a month-long program that focuses on the shared stories of our cultural icons; McClelland, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch’s Cruden Farm, Mulberry Hill and Ballam Homestead. You can engage with a small, curated collection that connects and celebrates our shared stories. Items in the collection have been sourced to celebrate the festival’s 2023 theme and have come from each property. Harry’s Studio will also be open for tours during the festival month.
