Hackett Heritage: A Mid-century Modern Suburb on show

A butterfly roof, Besser blocks, crazy paving and cordylines! This exhibition shows how California came to Canberra and developed its own local character in Hackett's domestic architecture, gardens and urban development.

From the simple to the simply stunning, original to latest renovation, mid-century modern has stood the test of time in Hackett and other suburbs established in the 1960s-1970s.

This free exhibition will be on display at the Hackett shops during the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival from 11-30 April.

A Canberra and Region Heritage Festival event – organised jointly by the National Trust (ACT) and the Australian Garden History Society.
