Guildford walk tours: walking in the footsteps of pioneers

Come on a tour of discovery as we walk in the footsteps of pioneers. Tour guides will lead groups of ten around the historic Guildford precinct, pointing out some of Guildford's beautiful buildings and explain why the town had a major impact in the development of Western Australia.

Swan Guildford Historical Society invites you to embark on a journey of discovery as we go on a walking tour around historic Guildford. Tour guides will talk about keeping law and order, entrepreneurs, rogues, convicts and the Fenians (Irish political prisoners), as we take in the sights and sounds of modern day Guildford.  Learn about early days in the Swan River Colony, the hardships endured by English settlers, and the impact of the railway line in the 1890s.  Our walk will include some beautiful buildings, Stirling Square, the war memorial, and on down to the Swan River to hear about transport in the Colony.
