Guided Walk of Victoria Street, Ashfield – part 1

Victoria Street is one of the historically significant streets in the Ashfield district, the walk will highlight cultural, architectural and social heritage aspects of the street. Early residents of note include Frederick Clissold of Mountjoy and Frederick Paton of Paton Electrical Works.

Knowledgeable guides will disclose early histories of many of the places seen on this walk, and touch on key people and events associated with the street. Fascinating accounts of families will bring the street to life, whilst the varied architecture of buildings, both existing and lost, will be highlighted.
The walk will commence opposite the iconic 1901 Fire Station, and progress southwards, revealing pages of history along the way.
