Guided History Tours: The Hospital Years 1920-1993

This year marks 100 years since Bundoora Homestead was home to the Bundoora Repatriation Mental Hospital. Join this unique guided experience to hear the stories that shaped the site, hosted by ex-hospital staff members Rosemary Barnes and Arnold Wheeler.

Back by popular demand – this guided tour will take you through the different eras of Bundoora Homestead, originally a family home built by JMV and Helen Smith.

Hear Rosemary and Arnold speak about unique stories, quirky design elements and their experience working on site during the hospital era.

Did you know that Bundoora Homestead was the site of an internationally significant medical discovery? The use of lithium to treat manic depression was discovered by John Cade while he was Medical Superintendent on site.

Hear about this and much more! Not to be missed.
