Going the Distance at the Spit: Celebrating 100 years of the Spit Amatuer Swimming Club

A celebration of the centenary of one of Mosman's most famous swimming clubs, the Spit Amateur Swimming Club featuring personal memorabilia from private and public collections.

This exhibition Going the Distance at the Spit features members whose local and international success in swimming and diving kept the Club’s name in the public eye over the last 100 years.

Names such as Forbes Carlile, Murray Rose, Sam Herford, Gergaynia Beckett, Brett Hill, Sue Knight and Noeline Maclean who changed the face of swimming in Australia will star in this commemoration. Along with other club members whose commitment to swimming and their community keeps this local club alive.
