Giving the Dead a Voice

Come and hear a few of the thousands of stories behind the headstones at East Perth Cemeteries.

Two dedicated women have spent years trawling through records to compile an extensive database of people buried in the East Perth Cemeteries. Come learn what their deaths tell us about life and death in the Swan River Colony. Hear fascinating facts and some of the stories uncovered during their research. Who was the first person to be buried in the colony’s first burial ground? What were the major causes of death?
