Gibbs of Cannington – the people, the land, the streets

William Lacey Gibbs owned a larged portion of Cannington in the late 19th century. A talk by Greg Gibbs will uncover some of the history of this extended family and the part they played in the growth of the area through to the present day.

Just how many Gibbs are there in Western Australia who are related to William Lacey Gibbs – prominent land owner in the Cannington district?

William St, Lacey St, and Gibbs St, all bear his name but how many others are there?

There are at least another two streets bearing the name of sons but are there more?

Greg will share some of the results of his on-going research into this wide-spread local family.
