Musical Moments: Gallop House Open Day

This event focuses on a voice of a different kind - the voice of music. The Music Mill, a music making machine, will delight you whether you are young, or young at heart.

Built by the current composer-in-residence, the machine is a musical marvel. As well as demonstrations of how it works and a Q+A session, there will be performances throughout the day. Children can learn more about music making through a variety of activities including simple instrument making workshops.

Take the chance to tour limited areas of the recently conserved house which is now home to the Prelude Composer in Residence Program.

This lovely two storey house was built by the Gallops in the 1870s and enjoys panoramic views over the Swan River. Discover more about the property which was once a thriving market garden.

Comfortable shoes recommended due to the steep driveway and/or steps to negotiated by foot.
