Explore the Lester Smith Lookout Tower – Open Day & Tower Climb

Have you ever climbed a water tower? Well here is your opportunity. Discover the Lester Smith Lookout Tower Kerang and learn about its history and make the climb to the top.
Join volunteers from the Kerang Family History Group as they share stories of the tower from years gone by.

The Lester Smith Lookout Tower is opening to the public and will be available to all of those who wish to climb it. If you have ever wondered about the history of the tower this is the day to come along and join members of the Kerang Family History Group who will be sharing historical photographs, information and stories about the tower.

Located in front of the Sir John Gorton Library in Kerang, the tower is normally only opened on request, so this is your chance to discover it for a whole day. Take a leisurely stroll to the top or climb it at a fast pace, the choice is yours. At the top you’ll discover the best uninterrupted view of Kerang and surrounding areas.

you need to know:
For climbing flat closed toe shoes are recommended. The bottom of the tower is accessible, however to reach the top of the tower there are several stairs that must be climbed.
