East Perth Cemeteries Tour

Journey back in time as you walk through this unique group of cemeteries dating back to the 1830s when Perth was first established. Situated high on a hill above the Swan River, these colonial cemeteries and the people buried here tell the stories of our city and state over its first 70 years.

As your tour winds its way through the cemeteries, you will encounter a variety of graves and headstones marking the burial sites of people laid to rest in these cemeteries from 1830-1899. Find out about the lives of notable members of the Swan River Colony, as well as lesser-known people who lived extraordinary lives under extremely difficult circumstances. There will be tales of murder, migration, adversity and involuntary transportation to what was one of the most remote parts of the world back in the 1800s.

You will also learn about the lost grave sites and what preservation works are being undertaken within the East Perth Cemeteries. $5 from every ticket will go directly to the National Trust of Western Australia and contribute towards the conservation and management of this one of a kind site.

Two Feet & a Heartbeat is excited to partner with the National Trust, who manage and care for this valuable historical precinct right in the heart of the city.
