Dragon Tales – The stories behind Loong, Sun Loong, and other dragons

In this guided one hour tour and talk we will be giving an in depth look into the culture and history behind our parade dragons, including heritage listed Loong, the soon to retire Sun Loong, and the soon to be made Dai Gum Loong.

The tour will include a twenty minute presentation on dragon (and lion) making history past and present, as well as some comparisons with dragon parades in other cities in Australia, Hong Kong, and North America. We will then embark on the a tour around the museum galleries and the 120 years of parade dragon history on display there in the forms of processional dragons ranging from the heritage listed Loong through to more modern examples from the 21st century.
