Discovering Linnwood

Come along and 'Discover Linnwood' - Western Sydney's hidden gem. Built in 1891 by George McCredie - 'Victor of the Plague'. See and hear the history of the house, plus a display of WWII domestic memorabilia entitled 'We'll Meet Again', then relax and enjoy a Devonshire Tea.

Are you CURIOUS as to what could possibly be of interest at Guildford?
Come and DISCOVER LINNWOOD and wander through this magnificent old home, still on its original 5ha of land!
Wonder at original STAINED & LEADLIGHT GLASS made by Goodlet & Smith and see many other original features throughout the house.
Admire the GARDENS – slowly but surely being reinstated.
See and hear a presentation on the history of the house – from being the McCredie family’s country residence, to becoming NSW’s first and only BOYS TRUANT SCHOOL, then a GIRL’S DOMESTIC TRAINING SCHOOL, offices for DoCs, abandoned, and then under threat of sale and development – SAVED by community action!
Now a community asset, see the changes over the years!
PLUS – ‘We’ll Meet Again’ – a special exhibition will bring back memories from the 1940’s – 50’s of domestic items and clothing you or your family used daily, or just on special occasions.
Relax and enjoy a Devonshire Tea with your family & friends.
