Commemorating Hamilton Hume

The 19th of April marks the 150th Anniversary of Hamilton Hume’s death. To mark this occasion Cooma Cottage will be opening from 10am – 4pm to share his stories and celebrate his life.

Visitors will be treated to an intimate portrayal of the life of Hamilton Hume with guided tours offered throughout the day. Stories of his life at Cooma Cottage will be revealed in this most magnificent setting. This extended tour will cover all aspects of his life, time with his wife Elizabeth at Cooma Cottage and most significant expeditions. The tour will cover the cottage, garden and stables. Free tea and coffee available on available.

Visitors will be to see the rare Picconia Excelsa tree planted here 180 years ago and will have the opportunity to win a well established propagation from this famous tree.
