Children’s Day

Bonegilla Migrant Experience invites families to a specially curated day of children’s activities and guided tours, all tailored for our most curious visitors and their accompanying adults. Through shared stories, visitors will understand how migrants helped to shape our cultural heritage.

Join in the fun to see this historic and culturally significant site through the eyes of our most curious visitors: kids!

Children and their families will make their own light catcher and clay pinch pot during a morning workshop running from 10am to 12pm. Participants will be encouraged to share their stories by incorporating their own family history into their artwork.

After a BYO picnic lunch enjoy some hands-on learning by churning butter by hand in the afternoon workshop running from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. After all that hard work you’ll get to try your family-made butter!

While you’re here why not join a guided tour to hear all the shared stories of the migrants who lived here. If you’re feeling adventurous be sure to grab your explorer’s pack from the Welcome Centre to find even more stories!

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Price per child includes entry and workshops.
