Building Boats since 1858

Absorb at your own pace between 12 noon and 4 pm the marvels of maritime construction - tools, skills and material wood, canvas - to be found at the C.Blunt's Boatyard, five generations of shipwrights have been making and repairing wooden boats at this location since 1858.

The heritage ‘story’ of Blunts takes time. You will see artefacts, read accounts of events – and will be reminded that boat building and repair have been an essential basis for Melbourne’s trade and prosperity . You will leave Blunts keen to learn more about Melbourne’s marvellous maritime heritage.
