Black Powder Mill Open Day and Firearm Demonstration
See where gunpowder was made and the firearms which changed the world. Learn the history of gunpowder and its importance in Asia.
The Black Powder Mill is the last remaining building from the former Albion Explosives factory. It was used to grind gunpowder for bombs and shells during WW2. In 2001 the Mill was included in the National Trust Heritage Register due to its cultural heritage significance.
At 11am and 1.30pm there will be a talk and demonstration of the mill in action on it’s original site with a firearms display using black powder by the colourful Historical Re-enactment Society of Australia.
