Bird Breakfast

Join us for breakfast and a morning bird walk in the beautiful grounds of Retford Park, led by our resident bird expert, James Luck.

One of the biggest challenges for the future of our natural heritage is arresting the decline in biodiversity due to habitat loss, change in land use and climate change. At Retford Park, we have been focusing on increasing the bird population on the property. To date, over 85 species have been observed in the garden and surrounding curtilage.
Join us for a delicious breakfast and a morning bird walk in the beautiful grounds. Our resident bird expert, James Luck, will help you identify birds and show you some of the strategies we’re using to encourage them such as installing bird nesting boxes, providing safe water stations, planting native shelter belts and developing habitat for invertebrates. Bring your binoculars and a hat.
