Behind the Scenes: Fremantle Prison Collection

Join Assistant Curator Eleanor Lambert on an exclusive behind the scenes look at the curatorial work spaces of Fremantle Prison’s museum collection.

Fremantle Prison holds a diverse and fascinating collection of around 12,000 historical objects. The collection spans over 130 years of operational life of the Prison from the 1850s, and has great cultural heritage significance.

Eleanor will discuss how cultural objects are cared for at Western Australia’s only World Heritage site, and how after undergoing cleaning and registration, where objects are stored, including in the publicly visible storage facility, which will be visited during this exclusive tour.
