Shared Stories of the Australiana Pioneer Village

The Australiana Pioneer Village offers a unique look at lifestyle back in the 1800s, share our stories on the families that lived the cottages, participate in our demonstrations highlighting how our ancestors lived in this period of our history.

At the Australiana Pioneer Village we are looking forward to sharing our stories. Learn about the history of the families, the story of the 5 Macquarie Towns, the importance to the growth of NSW, hear about the Indigenous and early Colonial history of the Hawkesbury, actively take part in food preparation, laundry and other demonstrations on the day.

Take part in our Program highlighting lifestyle in the 19th Century, this will include Village Tours throughout the day discussing our Cottages and the Families that lived in them. Learn about Indigenous and early Colonial History behind the people and see our selected artefacts. See how they lived and worked back in the 1800s including food preparation, help churn butter, make flour and more, visit our laundry and have a try washing on a washboard, visit our Post Office, Bank and Police Station, visit Marsden Public School and hear the stories of how Education was in the 1800s, demonstrations will include smelting, carpentry, cooking, whip cracking to name a few. Have a ride on our operational railway and have a ride on our tractor drawn hayride and wagon, there will also be animal feeding.
