Ask the Expert Jewellery & Smalls Antique Show

Was that magnificent brooch Grandma left you really as precious as she always said? How old are those unusual vases you bought on holidays 20 years ago? This is your chance to find out.

You are invited to ask the experts about the value of your jewellery and small decorative antique pieces in the spacious grounds of the historic Old Observatory in West Perth.

Hear 30 min talks: Collectors & Collecting by Geoff Moor (11.15am), Australian Colonial Jewellery by Trevor Hancock of Trinity Antiques (12.30pm), Amazing Sounds – history, collection and care of gramophones by Richard Rennie (2pm & 3pm).

Join a guided tour to discover more about this remarkable precinct. Learn about how the southern skies were first officially chartered from the site and weather and other astronomical observations undertaken until the observation dome was moved to Bickley in 1960s.

Bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful grounds that surround the elegant building designed by George Temple Poole.

This event is run in conjunction with Australian Antique & Art Dealers Association members, including Trinity Antiques, and the National Trust of Western Australia.

Please note – there will be no jewellery sales on the day.
